"Your SASSA grant — claim, recover or verify"

Scammers target grant recipients with messages about "recovering unpaid SRD grants," applying for a new grant that doesn't exist (there is no "R700 grant"), or "your grant is suspended — verify now." The links lead to fake sites that copy the real SASSA portal to steal your ID and banking details.

What to do: use only official SASSA channels — the official SASSA SRD website, the official SASSA WhatsApp line, or a SASSA office. SASSA does not recover grants through private WhatsApp numbers and won't ask for your banking details through a texted link. If a grant amount sounds new or too good, it's fake.
