The "support app" that watches your screen
A call or WhatsApp from "the bank," "your network," a courier or an online store: there's an urgent problem, and they send a link to install a "verification," "tracking" or "support" app. The app is a remote-access tool: from that moment the scammer watches your screen live — every PIN, password and OTP as you type it — and can even drive your banking app while the phone is still in your hand.
Complaints about digital-banking fraud have surged, and live screen-takeovers are a named driver of the current wave. The tell is beautifully simple: *someone who contacted you* wants software on your phone, or wants you to share your screen.
What to do: never install anything or share your screen at the request of someone who phoned or messaged you — no bank, network or courier works that way. If it already happened: airplane mode, delete the app, call the bank from another phone, change passwords from another device.
