The "I can get your money back" scam
After a loss, you may be contacted by a "recovery agent," "blockchain investigator," "lawyer" or fake official who says they've found your stolen funds — for an upfront fee or "release tax." It's a second scam, often targeting people already on a victim list.
What to do: real authorities never charge to recover funds or contact you out of the blue. Don't pay; block and report.
